I am proud to represent the third generation of my family's business, founded by my grandfather in 1930 and further developed by my father, James Sr., and brother, Harry, into the 1960/70's.

The primary goal of H. Carr & Sons has been to provide a quality product and service to the construction industry on a competitive basis. This concept is one of the directives that has not changed to this day.

We have witnessed the rapid changes and cycles in this industry over the years and have maintained a high degree of management flexibility to meet the challenges that constantly confront us in this regard. Our sustained growth can be attributed to the keen understanding and the ability to adapt to market changes as well as to the devotion and loyalty of our employees, who are primarily responsible for our success.

We continue this work and family tradition with various family members representing the Carr family's four generations, along with other long time employees and "next generations" who are joining the H. Carr team.

My nephew, Tom Purcell (President), has been with the company since graduating from WPI in 1992. My oldest son, Jesse, works as a Project Manager since graduating Boston College in 2009 and serving our country as a USMC veteran in Afghanistan. My wife, Mary Anne, (Boston College, 1983) is our CFO and a "tried and true" accounting veteran after working in NYC for PricewaterhouseCoopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand) immediately after college.

Not only are our employees/family members well educated and trained for their tasks but have remained true to our corporate family policy of honesty, straight forwardness, and hard work. These are the values and ethics that H. Carr & Sons brings to the construction industry – in the past, today, and as we progress into the future.
