2014 Purple Stride
Purple Stride RI is a 1.5 mile Walk/Run at Goddard Memorial Park, Warwick, RI. It is in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which raise "awareness and funds that advance research and support patients and loved ones with a promise of a better tomorrow." We walk in honor of James "Jim" Rideout. H. Carr had a thirty-plus year relationship with Jim as a manufacturer's representative and then hired him as a quality control manager. He worked for us for two years until his untimely passing.
In 2014 we raised $4,000 and had about twenty walkers to raise money in his memory. Our fundraising page can be found here. Our Charity Committee also petitioned our vendors, many of whom graciously donated to Purple Stride.
H. Carr & Sons contributes a strong six-figures to a combination of charities and causes every year. We are proud and thankful to do so.
